Two samples of GFRP crossarms produced by Wagner were tested under static four-point bending in order to determine the flexural behaviour. The results show that, both samples were able to withstand the same load and moment with a maximum load of 75 kN and 19.69 kN.m respectively. Wagner 1 had a lower mid-span deflection and a higher flexural modulus as compared to Wagner 2. However, Wagner 2 had a higher flexural toughness due to the contribution from the side of tubes to sustain the load until failure, unlike Wagner 1 where the initial crack occured at the edges of the tube so that the tube failed at 11 mm mid-span deflection. The different behaviour between these two samples is because the samples were taken from different location of transmission tower and already exposed to the environment and load from the transmisson tower�s conductor. � The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2021.
