This study compares the implementation of warm mix asphalt on two different bitumen grades. In this study, the aggregates used are stone mastic asphalt (SMA14). The usage of warm mix asphalt would solve environmental problem where the traditional hot mix asphalt lacks. Warm mix asphalt used lower temperature compare to hot mix asphalt. However, warm mix asphalt is a new technique that lacks research on the topic. One of the problems is how the lower temperature will affect the mixing and compaction. In this study, JKR/SPJ/2008-S4 is being referred for the requirements on stone mastic asphalt. Two bitumen grades compared are 60/70 and 80/100. The temperatures used are 100C, 125C and 150C with binder content of 5.0%, 5.5% and 6.0% each. The samples are prepared using Marshall mix design where stability and flow test is conducted. Analysis of density and void is done to determine the bulk specific gravity, voids in mineral aggregates (VMA) and voids in mix (VIM). The values are compared with binder content in order to obtain the optimum binder content (OBC). Hypothetically, the lower the temperature for mixing and compaction, the softer the bitumen grade to be used. 2023-05-03T17:43:21Z 2023-05-03T17:43:21Z 2020-09 Resource Types::text::Thesis https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/21702 application/pdf
