Description
Summary:Recently, there has been many cases of road accidents which are caused by motorist falling asleep while driving. This may be because of lack of sleep or tiredness caused by their workload. Even though there are existing safety features in the market to prevent the drivers from falling asleep while driving, there are still many accident cases because the system is not sufficiently efficient. This project’s purpose is to design a system which is unavoidable by the driver. The system works by first calculating the driver’s seating position after he/she have pressed the home button. After that, the ultrasonic sensor will calculate the distance of the driver and trigger an alarm to the Arduino programmable board which will then trigger the vibrator motor fitted in the steering wheel of the vehicle. This will alert the driver where the driver will experience vigorous vibration on the steering wheel and thus wake up to that vibration. The alarm triggers when the driver’s position has moved more than 8cm forward or backward for more than 2 seconds. This project is supposed to be cheap and is to be fitted in all brands of vehicles regardless of cheap or expensive brand.
