Solar photovoltaic relies heavily on sunlight to operate. Sunlight provides solar irradiance and increases the temperature of the module which enables the module to operate. This thesis discusses specifically on the effect of temperature on solar photovoltaic and how active cooling system affects its efficiency in Malaysia climate. Four cooling scenarios for an experiment have been designed; without cooling, air cooling, water cooling and hybrid cooling. The experiment is then conducted in Seksyen 5, Bandar Baru Bangi. Hybrid cooling appears to be the most efficient with an increase in efficiency at 51.62% followed by water cooling at 36.95% and then air cooling at 27.73%. The results are then compared with existing research from Thailand and Saudi Arabia for validation purposes and to further prove the impact of active cooling on solar panel efficiency. The purpose of this research is to show the need of active cooling system in maintaining and improving the efficiency of solar panel operation in Malaysia climate. This is due to Malaysia being situated on the Equator. 2023-05-03T17:34:58Z 2023-05-03T17:34:58Z 2020-02 https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/21659 en application/pdf |
