Description
Summary:High energy demand has been driven by the drastic growth of population. Non-renewable energy source has been utilized to overcome the demand in the recent century. The usage of non-renewable energy is greatly harmful to the Mother Earth. Therefore, renewable energy source is greatly encouraged to replace the non-renewable energy source in fulfilling the needs of energy supply. Biogas is one of the well-known renewable energy. In Malaysia, there is an abundance source in producing the biogas. The aim of this study is to present a model that is generated by the author. This model is to predict the production of biogas with the aid of Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The model has the input of 4 parameters which are the Total Solids (TS), Volatile Solids (VS), Carbon (C) and Nitrogen (N). These four parameters can be obtained easily from the agriculture substrates. With this model, users may obtained the expected yield of biogas from a particular substrate. This model uses lesser parameters in comparison with the model existed in the current market. Even though the model uses lesser parameters, but the model is efficient in predicting the biogas yield. However, this model is mainly emphasize on small or medium size of biogas farm.
