Distributed acoustic sensing system exploits the Rayleigh backscattering properties of fiber optics to making the fiber optic as the sensing elements for acoustic signal. DAS requires a reliable laser source to powers its system. This work focuses on the construction of a multiwavelength laser source that can be paired to DAS system. The design of the laser source is from several components, splice together to a complete loop design. The main components are the fiber Bragg gratings and polarization maintaining fiber. From the designs of the laser source, it managed to produce single, double, triple, quadruple and multiwavelength of laser spectrum with each of them having narrow linewidth and are stable over a time period. In short, this project managed to develop many spectrums of laser by only having two design of laser source.
