Eventually, it causes an imbalance state between generation and load demands and this problem causes disturbances in power system stability such as voltage and frequency instability. Untreated disturbances in the power system will lead to a blackout or power system collapse. In the context of maintaining power system security and reliability, load shedding schemes are introduced. These schemes are introduced as the last choice when the governor is unable to trigger spinning reserve and faulty protection equipment [1] [5]. Load shedding schemes consist of two schemes which are under frequency load shedding (UFLS) and under voltage load shedding (UVLS). These schemes which are UFLS and UVLS are applied when there are significant drop below the minimal range detected in frequency and voltage respectively. For this research, both load shedding schemes are initiated to contingencies events such as N-1 and N-2 contingency. Simulation for this study is conducted using the IEEE 30-bus system in PSSE software. Power flow and dynamic analysis are introduced in this paper as well to identify the stability of the system before applying any disturbance in it. Suitable load shedding relay settings are selected and applied to the contingencies. In this paper, UVLS is initiated when there is a voltage violation in certain local buses after implementation of UFLS.
