This solar photovoltaic system provides additional power to the grid. At the same time, it also helps to store the energy into the battery banks. In this project, modeling of solar photovoltaic that is connected to the grid is studied and understands its performance under various of loads connected. The study is using MATLAB Simulink software. There is one main load, which 100 kW connected in the system and additional of loads such as 50 kW and 20 kW also will add in at different periods of time through the breaker to study the sudden loading effects to the system. It is found that when 50 kW is added, an additional 100 kW is needed from the plant. This causes the plant to suddenly rises the current of 1054 A enter into the network. The parameters to be studied are the voltage, current, and power in the entire network. A VI measurement instrument will be added into the network to capture the voltage and current when the loads vary. As the loads vary from 20 kW to 100 kW, the current requires also changed from 100 A to 2000 A, depends on how the loads added into the network, whether they are sudden or follows the procedures. The desire outputs at the grid are the stable three-phase voltage, three-phase current, and active power. The transients of voltage and current as well as the power developed in the system due to sudden add in the loads, also will be studied. The power fluctuated within ±10% in amplitude and in 1 ms to 10 ms. After that, the system back to normal. This is related to the response of the photovoltaic system when a sudden change of loads happens.
