In recent years, power generation has shifted from traditional fossil fuel power plants, to more modernised microgrid based power, which is basically generation from consumer’s homes. As a result, the trend of power generation then leans towards the use of power electronics equipment such as the inverters. Therefore, this necessitates synchronisation between the consumer’s homes to the grid, and the control system of the inverter must be designed such that the phase estimation carried out is accurate enough for synchronisation.
