Description
Summary:In the present paper, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling was established to simulate the effect of the tilt angle on the flow swirl behaviour in furnace. The boiler furnace model that used in this simulation is the tangential system by which the air and the fuel are fired into the furnace from its four corners at seven elevations. For this study purpose , the designated boiler is just a model that been used to simulate the cases that been setup by using the CFD ANSYS FLUENT 19.2. Fuel burner and air nozzle are been setup and can be tilted from -30o until 30o. Current study also make a comparison between the combustion and non-combustion model. The simulations are shown the good results by prediction based on the data taken in analysis in CFD simulation. Temperature distribution shows the flames a likely notice only when the angle at 0o in the combustion model. All the non-combustion model got the same pattern because the injection from the nozzle only air and does not have a fuel inside. For this current study , the simulation also focused on the velocity profile to related it with the swirling flow in the furnace. The design of boiler also compared the burner angle and combustion model . The swirling flow are been observed by predict good values in the velocity and the temperature. ABSTRACT
