my.uniten.dspace-212962023-05-04T22:45:28Z Feasibility Study Of Renewable Energy Installations In Sabah Using Levelised Cost Of Energy Nur Suhana Binti Rahman Renewable Energy Hybrid Solar Levelised Cost Of Energy FYP 2 SEM 2 2019/2020 Electricity in Sabah has been solely managed by SESB, an electricity company owned by TNB. SESB owned three types of power station: gas, hydro and diesel. However, since the amount of power generated by SESB is inadequate to cater the demand, SESB had to face losses since more than half of its power generation is obtained from IPPs in Sabah. To reduce this dependency towards IPP’s power generation, previous student conducted power system study and proposed Hybrid Solar System to be installed in selected locations in Sabah. This study focused on the cost analysis, to determine whether the proposed system is capable to improve the cost of providing energy in selected locations in Sabah. After all necessary data were collected, HOMER Pro Software has been used to model both existing and proposed system. As a result, HOMER generated various feasible configurations based on the input parameter. All three feasible systems generated by HOMER is then presented and discussed. The Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE) for both existing and proposed system are reviewed. Based on the results, this study has shown that the integration of renewable energy into the existing system in Sabah improved the cost of providing energy. Other than that, this study has demonstrated that by adding renewable energy sources in existing system reduced the amount of emissions produced. 2023-05-03T16:29:26Z 2023-05-03T16:29:26Z 2020-02 https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/21296 en application/pdf |
