This leads to overload of vehicles in the parking area. Therefore, a more efficient system is needed to curb this overwhelming problem. Research was done on past works on the development of the ALPDR system. Then, a suitable methodology was designed using the Raspberry Pi 4 and softwares such as OpenALPR and Node-Red. Basic designs for a mobile application, web application and database were also developed. Experimentation and testing were done to determine the effectiveness of the developed ALPDR system. However, there were problems faced throughout this phase that prevented better results from being obtained.
