Most all the electronic device has a converter as their main component on. The function of converter same as a transformer which is can step up or step down the voltage. They can step up until three times of their input voltage. This converter has their own disadvantages same as another electronic component. The error is a common thing on this component and the use of controller is to minimize the error. In this case study the usage of Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller has been used to help the converter minimize or eliminates the error. There were many types of controller that can help to minimise the error or enhance the performance of the converter. When the controller is added to the converter, the system will become closed-loop control system which the controller gets the error from the output voltage and try to give a certain value to the converter and improve the step response. The controller will help the converter reduce overshoot, minimize or eliminates steady state error, increase response time or faster the settling time. However, not all the component need must reduce the overshoot to get optimum result. So, the value of gain in controller can be manipulated to suit the will of the converter.
