But, at the same time, the resources to produce electricity are also slowly diminishing as years pass by. The demand for electricity is high due to the fact that many buildings have a few percentages of energy that are wasted. Hence, this gives a rise in the internet of things (IoT) industry as it is able to make the energy-efficient and less wasteful. Despite that, the implementation of the internet of things tends to increase energy usage more rather than decreasing it. Therefore, this project aims to develop a solar-battery system for IoT applications which help to prevent the wastage of energy while making the IoT system sustainable. A literature review was done about the hardware and software components to identify which is suitable for this project and also the few ways of building a solar-battery system for an IoT system. After that, the design of the IoT system and the solar-battery system is decided and is graphically explained using block diagrams and flowchart. With that, the coding together with the result is shown for each segment of the IoT system such as the Wi-Fi and server connection, the testing of the hardware components and the graphical user interface. Following that, the hardware connection of the solar-battery system is tested and the sizing of the solar-battery system is calculated. Then, the solar-battery system is used to power up the IoT system while being incorporated with the IoT system. The performance of the full prototype is then tested and analysed through observation and data logging. In the end, the result shows that the IoT system was able to remotely control the home appliances and monitor the power consumption of the solar-battery system whereas the solar-battery was able to maintain its sustainability in the tested three days period. 2023-05-03T16:15:07Z 2023-05-03T16:15:07Z 2020-02 https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/21213 en application/pdf |
