Summary: | For bulk application of high-temperature superconductor ceramics in power engineering, Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 (Bi-2212) bulk material is an excellent candidate for consideration as resistive superconducting current limiters due to its homogeneous voltage characteristic over the whole bulk (Elschner, et al., 2001). For better mechanical property, the introduction of Ti is expected to enhance the microhardness of the ceramics. In this study, the effects of TiO2 addition in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8-Tiy with y=0.10 is observed in view of the possibility of using Ti added bulk ceramic of Bi-2212 as superconducting fault current limiter (FCL). |
