There are many benefits of renewable energy to the environment such as preserving the environment, reducing harmful gases emission, and improving people’s health. Installing a solar system also affects the economic aspect. For residential customers, installing a solar system in their residential building helps to reduce the cost of electricity bills. This paper aims to see the impact on the economy by installing a solar system for a residential customer in Malaysia and Singapore. The economic impact by installing the solar system from both countries will be analyzed and compared to see whether installing a solar system in Malaysia under its net metering policies is more beneficial than installing a solar system in Singapore under its own net metering policies The analysis will be performed by using HOMER Grid software. This paper considers financial factors such as Return on Investment (ROI), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), payback period, Net Present Cost (NPC), and much more so the economic impact analysis can be detailed as possible. The result of the simulations shows that installing a solar system in Singapore is more financially beneficial. 2023-05-03T15:18:46Z 2023-05-03T15:18:46Z 2020-02 https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/20756 en application/pdf |
