Summary: | This project aims at designing a horizontal single axis solar tracker with lens that using Arduino UNO since it less complicated, cheaper than other software. Two light dependent resistors (LDRs) were used for sunlight detection and to capture the maximum light intensity in the process of developing this solar tracking system horizontally with a single axis prototype. To increase the efficiency of the solar panel and maximize the energy produced, the servo motor is used to rotate the solar panel to the LDR (Light Dependence Resistance Sensing). The power generate by the proposed design has been tested and compared with the single axis solar tracker without lens on several time intervals. The design methodology described here will be presented by the small prototype of horizontal single axis solar tracker with lens. As the result of single axis solar tracker with lens systems, solar panel will produces more power including higher current value and higher efficiency. However overheating due to excessive solar radiation and high ambient temperatures can reduce the efficiency of the panels. Hence the cooling system for 5 min of solar panel is being implemented in this prototype. |
