A natural phenomenon is an unavoidable situation that cannot be avoided. Therefore, as a human being we always find a method to prevent or minimizing the hazardous effect that causes by the natural phenomenon. One of fearsome natural phenomenon is the lightning and it usually occur in the Malaysia peninsular. The lightning strike carry large amount of current and high burst of energy after the lightning strike occur that can cause a heavy damage to an electrical system or to any structure. Most of Malaysia buildings are exposed to the lightning hazard. Thus, it is crucial to identify the mitigation or the method of protecting the structure that has high density of lightning from receiving high damage from the lightning strike. University of Tenaga National are located in Malaysia and the lightning strike typically strike the structure inside the campus building. Therefore, this paper is to carry out an investigation to design a lightning protection system that follow the standard regulation and effective to prevent the structure from taking damage from the lightning strike
