When thermal is mentioned, there is always heat that comes up to the mind. This heat is treated as the subject of modification in this project to reduce further. Thermal can be anywhere it can be in house, office, mall etc. Confined spaces are always subject to heat in a certain temperature during the day. This heat can be reduced with proper methods and studies concerning the wall of the buildings. The buildings that are constructed these days are still practicing the same design that has been used for years. This old design never considered the factors which could be troubling during hot times. Hence, thermal comfort cannot be achieved. Thermal comfort is a comfort that people would be willing to invest on for the long term. Especially with the rise of global warming, insulated walls will be crucial to hold of the heat. To make a good efficient insulated concrete wall, proper design with proper materials must be selected. In today’s market, there are numerous materials that possesses good thermal insulation properties. In this study, cenosphere which is a recycled material of fly ash is used due to its quality of being a good thermal insulator. Mechanical properties of the concrete should also be taken into account as thermal properties does not give compressive strength values. Materials selection parameters are important because when making concrete with thermal insulation properties, there are two properties that need to be satisfied which is the high mechanical properties & low thermal conductivity. Lastly, the sustainability of the materials used are important to avoid any limitations to the study.
