PCP can be greatly beneficial in stormwater management system as it helps to infiltrate surface runoff in much higher rate to avoid flood. The usage of chicken bone helps in recycling of food waste and lessen the usage of natural fine aggregate. This is one of sustainability approach that is applied in this thesis. The author is inspired by a research paper that uses lamb and chicken bone as partial replacement of fine aggregate in conventional concrete to experiment on fluoride removal. Hence, the method of chicken bone preparation and its percentage of substitution is adapted in this thesis. The chicken bone was grinded into three sizes namely 0.5 mm, 1 mm and 2 mm and categorized as small, medium and large respectively. Each of these sizes substituted 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% by weight of fine aggregate. A control mix that uses 0% of chicken bone was prepared prior to these mixes. The research paper mentioned above proved that the concrete cube achieved its peak compressive strength at 7.5%. Three research objectives were established in this thesis. First, to analyze the performance of PCP is for its compressive strength values. This objective is successfully achieved with the analysis of the values results in similar trend with previous research, except for the highest compressive strength obtained is at 5% substitution. Second, to analyze the performance of PCP for its permeability values. This objective is achieved as it results in permeability values are inversely proportional to compressive strength as per expected. The third objective is to evaluate the overall best concrete cube specimen in term of compressive strength and permeability values. This objective is achieved with the best concrete cube is the cubes that uses 1 mm size, at 5% substitution as they obtained both great values of compressive strength and permeability. This shows that the concrete cubes can withstand a higher load and still has high permeability. 2023-05-03T15:09:03Z 2023-05-03T15:09:03Z 2019-10 https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/20621 application/pdf
