Smart Security System Using PIR Sensors

Security systems provide a significant protection to buildings and areas through detection of unauthorised entry. These systems are fundamental for certain sectors especially industrial and military to defend from property damage and theft of either physical or intellectual properties. Most security systems currently used are for prevention and alerting which can be outdone by coordinated or experienced intruders. There should be a more direct way for catching the culprits in the act. In this project, it is proposed to use an additional component for usual component of a security system to be able to obstruct intruders from escaping once they have intruded. There is also a different way for alerting the authorities directly using email. The sensor for this project is a common use PIR sensor which can detect movement. In this project, a comparison of where should these sensors be placed for the most optimal result and coverage in a room.
