my.uniten.dspace-203812023-05-04T17:40:35Z Synthesis and characteristic of zirconium ( ZR ) based on metal organic gel ( MOG) Aida Zulaikha binti Abdul Aziz Metal organic gel Interim sem 2020 /2021 In this research, Zr based on metal organic gel (MOG) was successfully synthesized by not using the harmful chemical such as N-N’-Dimethylformamide (DMF) and hydrochloric acid (HCl). Zr based on MOG were synthesized by the new method that haven created to ensure the harmful chemical was not been used like previous research. The method that using to create the Zr based on MOG is using the reaction of mixture of zirconium (IV) oxynitrate hydrate and the terephthalic acid with the mixture of ethanol. The samples where been heated at different temperature of aging which is 100⁰,110⁰, 120⁰, 130⁰ and 140⁰. The observation of the samples can be seen by the colour which form a light orange brownish in colour. The characterization of the synthesized of Zr based on MOG is using the Xray diffraction analyses, thermogravimetric analysis, field emission scanning electron microscope, and energy dispersive x-ray analysis. On the X-Ray diffraction analysis, the Zr based on MOG has only one highest peak that shows in the graph which is the correlate plane is (111) and the 2θ is about 7.5ᵒ. FESEM images had been analysed on the synthesized of Zr based on MOG to capture the crystalline of the synthesized. In the result of TGA, it can be seen the weight loss of the synthesized. There is 3 stage of weight loss at the temperature of the first stage is at 0⁰C to 100⁰C, the second stage is at 300⁰C to 400⁰C and the last stage is 600⁰C and above. Lastly, the characterization on EDX is to analysed the element that had exists in the synthesis of Zr based on MOG. The element that had been exists is zirconium, carbon and oxygen.
