The study involved 30 English Language teachers from four selected rural secondary schools in Serian District. Three instruments were used for the purpose of data collection: the semi-structured interview was conducted prior to the classroom observation and the collection of relevant documents. Four classroom observation, emphasis was given on the methodologies of using newspapers in the English Language classrooms. The data collected were triangulated to establish validity and top find out irregularities. The findings of the study identified reasons for employing, not employing newspapers in English Language classrooms. The findings of the study also discover a few methodologies in using newspapers in English Language classrooms. The findings seems to suggest that more seminars and workshops to be held to expose teachers to NIE activities because they benefits both teachers and students.
