Description
Summary:This project aims to develop a web-based system for managing Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) compliance administration within the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT) at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). The current management and process of ensuring compliance with OSH legal requirements at UNIMAS is done in a traditional, manual way, which is prone to errors and inefficiencies. The proposed system will include basic Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) functions and will allow floor wardens to check and update building inventory, file complaints and upload supporting documents, and generate reports in a systematic way. Elaborating more on the CRUD functions on a surface level for this proposed system, Create - adding new inspection and meeting report to the database by the Floor Warden where they can also add new complaints, Read - retrieving reports from the database to show and list to the Admin, Update - updating complaint status and other related information such as the feedback and actions taken towards the complaint in the database by the Admin, Delete - deleting any report or complaint by the Admin. Additionally, the system will include a reminder notification system to ensure compliance tasks are completed within the required timeframe. The methodology used for this project will be the Waterfall Model, a linear, sequential approach with 6 main phases. The scope of this project is limited to FCSIT floor wardens and UKKP UNIMAS admin users and will focus on OSH compliancy activities of quarter-yearly meetings and building inspections only. The application received a positive feedback in overall from Admin users and Floor Warden user during the testing phase with a few recommendations that will be discussed in this report.
