Description
Summary:Water pollution is a significant environmental issue that affects the quality of water resources and has negative impacts on human health and ecosystems. The transport of pollutants in water bodies is governed by the advection-diffusion equation (ADE), which describes the movement of a substance in a fluid due to the combined effects of advection (i.e., movement with the fluid) and diffusion (i.e., spreading due to random motion of the fluid particles). In this research, we will investigate the concentration of pollutant transport in a water body using onedimensional advection-diffusion equation (1-D ADE). We will use explicit forward time central space (FTCS) scheme as the numerical method for solving the equation. The results of this research will provide insight into the transport of pollutant in a water body that may contribute to the development of effective management strategies to mitigate water pollution.
