Summary:A 5-week feeding trial was carried out to examine the growth performance and feed utilization of poultry byproduct meal with different inclusion levels the in diets of Tor tambroides. Six isolipidic and isonitrogenous experimental diets were created at various levels of PBM (0% or control, 20%, 50%, and 80%). All fish were fed twice a day (0900 and 1500 hours) at 20% total body weight. The fish biomass in each tank were weighed in the beginning and ending of experiment and fish were fed up to satiation. All fish from each tank were weighed to take the average weight at the end of the trial to measure the condition parameters and dress out percentages of the groups fed with various PBM amounts. Protein efficiency ratio (PER), feed conversion ratio (FCR), average weight gain (AWG), and specific growth rate (SGR), were used to assess fish growth performance. There is a trend and pattern of lower growth performance as the inclusion of PBM increase in the dietary levels. The benefits of PBM protein at 20% inclusion on FM replacement were effectively demonstrated, with significantly higher (P<0.05) feed intake and PER for fish given 20% PBM compared to other treatments, indicating a favourable signal for the empurau fingerlings-based diet.
