Researcher have used in-depth interview to collect data related to respondents demographic profiles, perceptions of parents about children unrestricted access to social media and action plans to reduce children’s unrestricted access to social media. The results of the study showed that majority of the respondents are in the age range between 43 to 49 years old consisting of women alone. The majority of respondents are married and have three to five childrens. In terms of employment, most of the respondents are working in the government sector and self -employed. Perception of parents about children unrestricted access to social media is that social media helps children to find information, social media exposed children to negative things, concern about social media safety and lead to social media addiction. The action plan to reduce children’s unrestricted access in social media is that parents need to monitor their children’s activities in social media, use any parental application to monitor children, set a time limit for children’s to use social media, keep children away from any gadgets and checking children online history. The results of the study is hoped to provide awareness to all parties to focus on the issue of children unrestricted access to social media in Kampung Pusa, Sarawak.
