Web-based car rental management system for community in Malaysia

Nowadays, there are many web-based car rental services system existed. However, for community who wants to rent a car but does not belong to any company are still doing their car rental business manually. In this project, the author proposed a solution to this matter, by developing a web application that allows the community to do their car rental business online. In the beginning of this project, the author interviewed one experienced car owner and one car tenant in order to obtain requirements for the process of renting a car. Later, the author compares the different existing systems with the proposed system in order to maintain the usable features and improve the limitations. The author developed the prototype by using YII framework, phpMyAdmin, HTML, CSS and PHP programming. The author developed the prototype based on the user requirements she collected, and carried out the system and user testing with 5 car owners and 5 car tenants. The car owners are able to use the system to post their car rental advertisement and the car tenants are also able to book the car rental from the car owners.
