Description
Summary:The business operations in the accounting and financial sector have been increasingly dependent on the computerized information systems over the years. It has now becoming impossible to separate Information Technology (IT) from the accounting department because IT is part of company assets and business risks. Therefore, there is a need for focused attention on the issues of the corporate governance of the information systems in computerized environment and the security controls to safeguard information and accounting information system. Smaller organizations face special challenges with regard to information security management and reporting due to limited resources. This thesis discusses an audit framework for information system security governance that aims to improve the management of information security throughout an accounting department.
