Description
Summary:This book is about educational resources in Malaysian public universities. 136 Open Educational Resources in Malaysian Higher Learning Institutions Future Directions of OER in UNIMAS It is expected that in addition to the above highlighted examples of OER used in UNIMAS byindividual academic staff and faculties/centres/institutes, UNIMAS will gear toward a moreinstitutionalised initiative. For example, there is a move to explore the possibility of UNIMASto be part of the Open CourseWare (OCW) Consortium and to encourage academic staff to contribute his/her courses to the OCW platform. Various technical, quality assurance processes and incentive initiatives are also being explored as part of the effort to crystallize the goal. It is expected that UNIMAS and its academic staff and students and the community at large will benet from the institutional initiative by enhancing the accessibility and quality of tertiary learning experiences, reducing instances of reinventing the wheel, and, at the same time, saving travel costs, and ultimately increasing the visibility of the university
