Summary: | The purpose of this research is to examine the link between Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) characteristics on Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure. The sample data
used in this research comprises 201 non-financial firms listed on the Bursa Malaysia in
the period 2013 to 2015. CEO characteristics in this research are CEO gender, CEO
working experience, and CEO education. All non-financial data were collected from
annual report and financial data were collected from data stream. The result show that
CEO education are in the science field are performed better compared to business field
in engaging CSR disclosure. They are more vulnerable in handling and working in the
complex environment. Furthermore, they have skillfully conceptualizing, applying and
analyzing and able to solve issue with prompt critical thinking. Firm size is only control
variable that positively significant towards CSR disclosure. Future studies suggest this
study can be expand using other measurement of CEO characteristics and CSR
disclosure. |
