A total of 57 employees from a private company in Kuching, Sarawak took part in this study. The responders were given 5-point Likert-scale questionnaires. To examine the mediator, the data were analysed using basic linear regression and the Sobel test. According to the findings of the study, there was a significant association between leadership style and work satisfaction, with a p-value of.000, which is less than.05. The p-value for the connection between job satisfaction and absenteeism was 0.075, which is greater than 0.05, indicating that the relationship is not statistically significant. Meanwhile, the link between leadership style and absence has a statistically significant p-value of 0.035. The p-value for the sobel test, which we used to establish the mediation impact of work satisfaction toward the association between democratic leadership style and absenteeism, was 0.285. As a result, there is no statistical difference. The study's implications were addressed in the conclusion section, followed by recommendations for the organisation and future researchers.
