This research aims to study the moderating effect of social media addiction on the relationship between perceived peer pressure and self-esteem among undergraduate students in the Faculty of Cognitive Science and Human Development (FCSHD) at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). This study adopted a correlational research design and used a survey method to get the data from the intended population thought a convenient sampling technique by distributing sets of questionnaires to respondents. A Pearson correlation was used in this research to analyse the relationships between variables. Multiple Regression Analyses using Process Macro by Hayes (2017) was also used to check for moderation effect where the involvement of more than one explanatory or independent variables are present. 287 respondents have participated in this research and there are significant relationship found between; perceived peer pressure and self-esteem, perceived peer pressure and social media addiction, and social media addiction and self-esteem. This research also found that social media addiction does act as a moderator for the relationship between perceived peer pressure and self-esteem among undergraduate students of FCSHD UNIMAS. It is suggested for future researchers to do qualitative research about this topic to understand more on the moderating effect of social media addiction on the relationship between perceived peer pressure and self-esteem. Other than that, the participants can also be change from undergraduates’ students to adult, elderly, or children
