This research aimed to study the coping strategies attitude among teenagers in Sarawak. This study was running to know is there any impact on attitude (psychological openness, help-seeking propensity, indifference to stigma) of coping strategies (problem-focused coping: active coping, planning, suppression of competing activities, restraint coping, seeking of instrumental social support, Emotion focused-coping strategies, Less Useful coping strategies and Recently Develop coping strategies) among teenagers in Sarawak? The reason is, by learning this study can determine the significance impact of attitude on coping strategies. To answer the question, this study uses quantitative types of research and ran the assessment of IASMSH and COPE inventory on 104 teenagers in Malaysia. The study result reveal that all of the hypotheses are accepted because the p value was greater than 0.5. Therefore, teenager’s attitude in Malaysia had significant impact with the coping strategies used in the instruments. The highest means for attitude (psychological openness) showed the significant impact on attitude of teenagers in determining the coping strategies such as the attitude of open to acknowledging the presence of a psychological problem and to seek professional care for such a problem. This study also discovered that problem-focused coping strategies, such as active coping, use of instrumental support, restraint, suppression of competing activities, and planning, had a significant impact on teenagers' attitudes in determining coping strategies. Therefore, teenagers in Sarawak have the greatest impact on using steps to eliminate problems, focusing solely on problems, waiting for the right moment to act, and seeking advice from others, while substance use and humor have the least impact. From a safety perspective, this study had contributed to the methodological gap which was considering only the teenagers was participated in this study and provides basic information for future study on how to improve coping strategies among teenagers in Malaysia. For future study, it will be beneficial to identify more about coping strategies attitude related variables such as help-seeking behavior, study coping strategies and student performance.
