Summary:This study examines the factors that influence the demand for international tourism in Malaysia. In this study, the important economic factors affecting tourism demand for Malaysia are estimated and identified which are consumer price index, exchange rate and travelling cost. CPI is found to be stationary at level and all the variables are stationary after first differencing. The result shows that there is at least one long run cointegrating vectors moving in the same direction. It is found that tourist arrivals and exchange rate will affect the travelling cost in short-run. It is found that Consumer Price Index (CPI), exchange rate and travelling cost affect the tourist arrivals in long-run.
