Immobilization of Heterocyclic Hydrocarbon Degrading Bacteria using Different Concentration of Gellan Gum

This study is focusing on how to degrade the heterocyclic hydrocarbon using bacteria that was previously isolated from seawater. Seawater pollution is the serious problem for environment, and one of the solution is bioremediation, the process of bioremediation will done by the immobilized bacteria...

Seawater pollution is the serious problem for environment, and one of the solution is bioremediation, the process of bioremediation will done by the immobilized bacteria to help the successful rate of bioremediation process. This study has been used one substrate which is carbazole. The function of CAR is used as the pollutant in order to help the degradation by marine bacteria Idiomarina maritima by using different concentration of gellan gum, and in this study the strain that is used is strain 2 from Idiomarina maritima. After this observation, the gellan gum was re-used for reusability.
