| Summary: | The objective of this research is to study about the development of Mah Meri indigenous community woven handicraft :Modernisation influence on the shape and design of woven handicraft. The research is done to identify the historical development of woven handicraft Mah Meri society at Pulau Carey and documenting the changes in shape and architectural of the craft. In this study, researchers using qualitative methods which is via interviewing and observations. A total of five villagers who are from Kampung Sungai Bumbun to be interviewed. The results that analyzed which was based on the informations given by the informants is that there is development of handicraft from year 2003 until now at Kampung Sungai Bumbun, Pulau Carey. Thus, development of handicraft from 2003 until now is more influenced by the modernization from social and economical aspects. |
