Cholera toxin gene (ctx), the virulence gene of V. cholerae, can be produced even there is only a small amount of cholerae bacteria. Cholera disease is endemic in many countries, especially the country that have poor sanitation and lack of clean water supplies. In this study, thirty flavoured drink samples from two night markets were involved in the identification of the prevalence of V. cholerae. The prevalence of V cholerae is enumerate by using MPN-plating method. Besides, the molecular detection of the virulence gene in V. cholerae is by the mean of polymerase chain reaction (PCR). As a result, the prevalence of V. cholerae in drink samples of both location are the same, which is 46.67%. Overall, the V. cholerae cultured from the flavoured drink samples are not toxigenic as there is no ctxA gene in the bacteria. However, the vendors of both night markets still have to have sanitation practice to improve the quality of drinks sold as the density of V, cholerae is quite high.
