It can spread the various bacteria to the human through contaminated water source, poultry, animals, contaminated food and so on. Common diseases that caused by Musca domestica are typhoid fever, cholera, diarrhoeal disease and others. Because of the houseflies resistant to the insect repellents easily, thus it is necessary to synthesize new compound that can kill Musca domestica. By using pharmacophore modelling approach, the new lead compound can be discovered. The pharmacophore features include of hydrogen-bond acceptor (HBA), hydrophobic group (HY) or aromatic ring (AR) features. The benzaldehyde derivatives were synthesized via the Schiff base reaction. For the characterization of the synthesized compounds, NMR and FTIR and CHN analysis were used. The cytotoxicity test using brine shrimp, antioxidant activity test using DPPH and the biological repellent test using life flies were the validation test for the synthesized compounds. In this research, compound 3 and 13 are the best compounds as flies repellent based on the pharmacophore modelling and biological activity.
