Summary: | This study examines the genetic variations of Macrobrachium rosenbergii de Man (giant freshwater prawn) from three populations in Sarawak rivers: Lingga, Roban, and Balai
Ringin using microsatellite DNA. Six microsatellites primers were tested using PCR method and four primers were found to be polymorphic. The number of alleles and observed heterozygosities per locus ranged between one to six and 0.861 to 1.000, respectively. These microsatellite markers were useful for the future genetic studies of Macrobrachium rosenbergii. |
