The oil and aqueous extracts from all parts of plants has potential act as insecticide. The study aim to investigate the leaves and pericarps extract that might be toxic to wood-decaying fungi namely Trametes versicolor, Gleophyllum trabeum and Chaetomium globosum. The objectives of this study were to determine toxicity methanol extracts of 1. curcas leavcs and pericarps, determine the chemical composition ('Yo) of 1. curcas pericarps and leaves and identifY the chemical constituents of methanol extract of1. curcas pericarps. Various levels concentration of methanol crude extracts of pericarps and leaves (50 Ilglml, 100 Ilglml, 250 Ilglml, 500 Ilglml and 1000 Ilglml) were prepared. The extracts were subjected to analysis on capillary GCIMS and to determine the chemical composition analyzed from it. Antifungal activities are determine by using paper disc diffusion method with three replicates and repeated three times. The plates were incubated and the zone of inhibition was observed. The antifungal activities were evaluated after 72 hour of incubation period. The study revealed that leaves and peri carp extracts possessed significant activities against Trametes versicolor, Gleophyllum trabeum and Chaetomium globosum. At 500 Ilglml of leaves and pericarps extract possessed activity against Trametes versicolor only. The major components of hexane and dichloromethane (OCM) soluble fraction of methanol extract from pericarps and leaves were 9--octadecanoic acid, hexacosane, 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid mono 2-ethylhexyl ester and octacosane, respectively in this compound possess toxic properties against microorganism. Ibe results suggest that 1. curcas methanol extracts have a strong antifungal activity against Trametes versicolor, Gleophyllum trabeum and Chaetomium globosum. Further antifungal and antibacterial activity need to be conducted to explore the active ingredients as a possible substance for the natural products industry.
