Comparative Study of the Diet of Anuran Amphibians between Ground Dwelling and Arboreal Types at Kubah National Park

Feeding habit and food preference of the anuran amphibians were conducted to determine the prey items for ground dwelling and arboreal frogs and the relationship between the snout vent length (SVL) of predator and prey length for both ecological categories of frogs. Description
Summary:Feeding habit and food preference of the anuran amphibians were conducted to determine the prey items for ground dwelling and arboreal frogs and the relationship between the snout vent length (SVL) of predator and prey length for both ecological categories of frogs. The sampling was conducted at Kubah National Park from 20 to 26 November 2016 and 15 to 21 January 2017. A total of 10 species were captured. The regurgitated stomach content of 10 species were analyzed and showed that arthropods comprised a major part of their diets. The diet of anurans was influenced by snout vent length (SVL) of the frog and prey length. There was no significant difference in prey consumption between ground dwelling and arboreal frogs. Arboreal frogs have higher diversity index indicated that arboreal frogs consumed different types of prey rather than ground dwelling frogs.
