Description
Summary:The purpose of this study is to understand the microhabitat patterns and structure of forest bird communities in Kampung Padang Pan, Bau, Sarawak.. 15 mist-nets and quadrat were used with each vegetation plot of 10 m x 10 m. Mist-nets were checked in every two hours, starting from 0600 hours to 1800 hours. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Generalized Linear Model (GLM) were used to analyze the microhabitat structure and patterns of bird. PCA was used to identify the parameter of habitat of the surroundings of birds, while GLM was used to rank the important parameters of the microhabitat. Three parameters, density of ferns (AIC = 182.654), density of woody plant with > 3m height (AIC = 183.779) and density of flowering plant (AIC = 184.472), were found to have great influences on the structure and pattern of bird communities.
