Summary: | A study on the phytoplankton assemblage in man-made lake Unimas campus. It was conducted in August, November (2006), January and February (2007). Results showed that member of Chlorophyceae abundant compared to other taxon. The highest phytoplankton composition was in January 2007. Twenty six phytoplankton genera were recorded during this study. The phytoplankton assemblages were
influenced by physico-chemical parameters (temperature, transparency, phosphorus (PO43-), ammonium
(NH4') and nitrate (NO3)). Correlation analysis indicated that there was significant correlation between
phytoplankton genera with same physico-chemical parameters of the water in the lake. |
