Summary: | The World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that in the year 2003 about 16.7 million
people around the globe died due to cardiovascular disease (CYD). Beside hypertension known
as one of the cardiovascular risk factor (Kearney et at., 2004). A meta-analysis of data from
January 1980 through July 2003 shows that about 43 .9% of men and 32.8% of women around
the world found to be hypertensive (Kearney et at., 2004). In the United State of America,
about 74.5 million people aged 20 years old and above have high blood pressure; while only
77.6% are aware of their condition (Kearney et al. , 2004). |
