Summary:Fifty six species of Aphyllophorales were collected. The identification of these fungi was done based on their morphological and physiological characteristics. Thirteen genera were classified and the most genus found was Microporus which was thirteen species, followed by nine species of Phellinus, eight species of Amauroderma, seven species of Poly porus, six species of Stereum, four species of Ganoderma, three species of Fomes and one species for each Coltricia, Phaeolus, Ramaria, Hydnum, Trogia and Nigrosporus. Of all of the species collected, seven pure cultures were obtained that were isolates 14 and 34 of Phellinus sp, isolates 15 and 49 of Ganoderma sp, isolate 40 of Fomes sp, and isolates 41 and 50 of Amauroderma sp. There were significant differences, at P<0.05, of effect of media, temperature and macronutrients on growth of the fungi. The growth rates of the Aphyllophorales were significantly highest on PDA and MEA compared on CMA. All of the isolates can be classified as mesophilic fungi since they had significantly highest growth rates at temperature ranged from 2YC to 30·C. They grew slower at temperature 15 ·C and 35·C. All of the isolates can survive with the absence of macro-nutrients such as carbon, nitrogen, potassium, phosphate and magnesium sources.
