Overuse of smartphone gives impact to mental health, such as Nomophobia, where user has a fear in the absence of smartphone. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the level of smartphone dependency and nomophobia among undergraduate students in UNIMAS by faculty and gender. Using stratified sampling, where the strata were faculty and gender, a total of 521 participants participated in this study. The study found that undergraduate students in UNIMAS have a moderate level of smartphone dependency and nomophobia. There is a significant difference in level of smartphone dependency and level of nomophobia between faculty, but there is no significant difference in level of smartphone dependency and level of nomophobia between gender. The result on relationship between smartphone dependency and academic performance suggests that there is a weak correlation between those variables. Through this study, hopefully the awareness on the issue of smartphone dependency and nomophobia increases, so that prevention measure can be taken.
