Its diverse habitats are home to many endemic plants and animals, including numerous species of conservation importance. The many ecotourism elements put in one place, make Santubong unique. The history of biodiversity research in Santubong is a long one, and preceding that, legends and archaeological interests, have been the subject of scholarly attention.
