There is still a lack of awareness regarding the relevance of building materials management in the industry among the parties involved in building construction in Sarawak. Due to inefficient management of building materials, considerable amounts of wasteful materials are produced on construction sites. The study conducted was initiated for the G7 contractor in Sarawak regarding the implementation of building material management in construction. This study's objective is to investigate the management of building materials in the Sarawak construction industry on the part of contractors in Sarawak. There are 3 objectives of this study which are to examine the causes of poor building materials management for building construction in Sarawak, to investigate the effects of poor building materials management for building construction in Sarawak, and to determine the benefits of building materials management for building construction in Sarawak. Effective building materials management can improve project cost control, completion timeliness, waste reduction, and sustainability in the Sarawak construction industry. By instituting effective materials management practices, construction companies can optimize their operations, reduce resource waste, and contribute to the industry's growth and development.
