The GGP would be implemented in Sabah and Sarawak as a catalyst for growing the green market, which includes the green building sector, to speed up the green initiative. Since green procurement is a relatively new concept in Malaysia and there is a lack of knowledge and awareness about it among practitioners. Hence, this research is aimed to investigate Sarawak Public Sector employees' perceptions of the use of green procurement in the construction sector. There are three (3) main objectives of this study which are; (i) to examine the level of awareness in implementing Green Procurement in Sarawak Public Sector among the government’s staff, (ii) to discover the limitations or constraints in practicing Green Procurement in Sarawak Public Sector; and (iii) to provide the strategies that can be used in the application of Green Procurement in Sarawak Public Sector. There are two phases in this methodology process; Phase 1 – to obtain data by using a quantitative method, with questionnaires distributed to Sarawak Public Sector’s employees.; and Phase 2 – to analyses the data by using IBM SPSS software. At the end of this study, this paper will be able to provide insights among the staff of the Sarawak Public Sector regarding the green procurement in delivering construction projects.
